2 DIY FALL HAIRSTYLES | GUEST POST BY CLARE

I’m super excited to be sharing another guest post today! This one is going to be some easy and fun fall hairstyles by Clare, so read on to see the tutorial 🙂 xo christina

Hey everyone! I’m Clare from the hairstyling blog Seton Girls’ Hairstyles!

Today I’ll be sharing two DIY fall/autumn hairstyles with you–I hope you like them!

Hairstyle No. 1: DIY Double Twist Ponytail

This hairstyle is great because it’ll only take you a minute or so to do (a great one to do in your car or when you’re on the go.) And is perfect to jazz up a regular ponytail, which will make you instantly look put together!

This hairstyle will work on most lengths of hair, as long as you can put your hair into a ponytail. 😉

Items needed: 2-4 bobby pins, a hair tie, and optional: a hair scarf (or scrunchie)

Time: 2-3 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

******************************

Step-by-step instructions:

1.) To start off with, I parted my hair slightly to one side. (A middle part will works too, it’s just up to your personal preference.)

2.) Next, just pick up a section of hair from one side of your part (about an inch in size), and softly twist towards the middle of you head.

3.) Spread the end of the twist down flat where you want to pin it in place (about the spot where you want to tie your hair into a ponytail.) And pin down to secure, buy laying one bobby pin (bumpy side down) across the section, and then another crisscrossed in the opposite direction. (You may only need one pin if you have thin hair.)

4.) Repeat the exact same steps on the opposite side of you part..

5.) Now gather the rest of you hair into a ponytail and secure with a hair tie. Don’t worry if you can still see the bobby pins, you can try and hide them a bit with your hair or just leave them as is. 😉

Optional: to finish off the hairstyle, and make it look a little more cute, I added a hair scarf. You could also use a scrunchie from my store, or hair ribbon to finish off the style, which would look great too!

Annd you’re done!

Hairstyle No. 2: DIY Upside-Down Dutch Braid Bun

This hairstyle definitely takes a bit of practice to get the ‘upside down’ braiding technique down, but once you get it, it’s such an awesome hairstyle to add to your collection.

This hairstyle also works on pretty much any hair length. Anyone with shorter hair knows how hard it often is to put your hair up without the bottom layer of your hair falling down because it’s too short. So this hairstyle is perfect for getting those short layers into your bun, while also looking pretty at the same time!

Items needed: 2-4 bobby pins, a hair tie, and optional: a hair scarf (or scrunchie)

Time: 2-3 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

******************************

Step-by-step instructions:

1.) Start with your hair down…

2.) Next, gather up roughly the top half of you hair and secure out of the way for now..

3.) Then flip your head forward and brush all the hair towards the front of your head with your fingers..

4.) Now start to dutch braid your hair, making sure to start with a fairly small section. It can be a bit tricky to get the technique of braiding ‘upside down’ at first, so don’t worry if it takes a few attempts to get the look you want. (It definitely took me a few tries in the beginning!)

5.) Once you’ve run out of hair to add in, stand up straight again and secure the ends of your braid tightly to your head with a small rubber elastic.

6.) Take down your top section of hair now and gather all your hair into a high ponytail.

Secure with a hair tie…

7.) Gather your hair into a bun. You can do your bun however you like. I used a similar technique to this one since my hair is pretty short at the moment.

Pin everything to your liking. I added a white scrunchie to finish off the style (You can shop it here) and you’re done!

Thanks so much to Christina for letting me share some hairstyles today on her blog! For more tutorials you can check out my blog here: www.setongirlshairstyles.com
