Today I’m going to be sharing a bunch of my recent photos π Recently I’ve tried to get out and take pictures of the sunset/rise but none of them have turned out π¦ Do y’all have any tips for getting good pictures of the sky in general?
It was my first time attempting to get a picture of our neighbor’s cat that loves hanging around our house… she/he (honestly idk) was like “what are you doing” lol.
anytime i say “smile for the picture” agg why is she so cute?
i don’t even know what i like about this picture. haha
her guilty face. she was being mean to the kitty and I told her to stop, this is the face she made! it was so hard to not laugh…
J playing with the neighbor boy… I loved the colors I guess?
Fine I’ll let you see another adorable picture of her….. actually I’ve probably showed you too many already, you’re probably bored lol.
I told her to make “the kevin face”.
More “Kevin Face” from a different angle.
Her little squinty smile gets me every time…
Did you enjoy the pictures? Honestly I really only get ones of Emily, I need to start getting more of other things haha. Do you get the “Kevin Face”?Β please tell me you do
How has your week been? Mine has been good, but busy with school. I can’t wait for Christmas/New Year’s break! Do y’all like the Christmas “redesign” of the blog? It’s not as good as the regular one, because Mukta designed that one, but I like it. It’s fun to change things up!Β
Anyway, today’s post is “winter” photography. If you could call it that… I’m a Florida gal, so our winter is basically the same as summer (except we kinda freak out at 65 degrees “It’s so cold! It’s going to snow!”- and yes, that is a real conversation). Plus the majority of these photos are of my cutesy little sis Em. Hey, I won’t complain if you won’t!
#sorrynotsorry
I decided to split the post into two categories: nature/outside and Emily/sibs (my siblings). So…. let’s get started!
I don’t really know why I took this photo (maybe it was a lighting test) but I actually kinda like how it came out. The quality isn’t great, but I like the different elements. The stones are so pretty, and I love the layering of the steps and the plant.
This picture is weird… I like the detail of the cherry tree’s trunk, but the angle is really crazy… what do you think?
There were a couple of tiny flowers by our sidewalk, so I tried to take a picture of them. Believe me, it’s harder than it looks! I was literally lying on the ground hoping that none of our neighbors were watching me… the things we do to get a picture!
THIS PICTURE IS SO PRETTY. I literally have no idea why I like it so much… but I love the pine cone.Β Plus we have some bokeh in the back… yaaaaaassssss!
I can’t decide which I like better- the pine cone in focus or out of focus. In this picture, I really like how sharp and clean the grass is, plus I like the bokeh.
BEHIND THE SCENES/// I moved the grass so I could focus on the pinecone… it was way harder than I thought! Steadying the camera was MUCH harder with only one hand…. plus I was lying on the ground.
I don’t love this picture, but I wanted to show y’all how huge our cherry tree is. It might not be super big, but we planted this thing from when it was TINY. It was about the size of a marigold, I kid you not. It’s so huge now! We planted it at the end of February in 2017, so we haven’t even had it for two years.
The light was so pretty coming from the top of the tree, so I had to take a picture!
I love the way the light is coming in through the leaves! This picture is so pretty π
Now for the part of the post that you OBVIOUSLY came for… my cutsie patootsie sister Em plus my brothers! Plus an overload of camera mirror selfies (that sounds weird) of me!
C: Make me a cool rapping singer. Here I’ll sing for you “BOOM BOOM BOOM I’M A RAPPER”Β I obliged.Β
C: Take a picture of my eye… with sunglasses on!Β
Okaaaayyyy?
Em’s face the entire time that C was posing “as a cool rapper”
I don’t normally like color contrast like this, but this is adorable! I love her expression… J was posing for me like this, and she decided to copy him.
OH MY GOODNESS I’M FRAMING THIS… How cute, though? I love it.Β
Wouldn’t you love to knock on a door and have this cutie answer? How adorable!Β
BTS (behind the scenes): She was actually trying to slam the door on me while I was taking them. She was literally saying “Out, Tina! Out, Tina! Chris-tin-a, get out!”.Β
If you look past the blurriness, she’s adorable!Β
“And what are you doing here, my good friend?’ (not what she was actually saying lol)
I tried to capture pictures of her running… and failed.
I told her “Pose for me”Β and “be a model” (she doesn’t know what a model is lol) and this is what she gave me.Β
I love her messy face… She looks so deep in thought.
She was mad at me when I wouldn’t let her “see it, see it, see picture”… I haven’t taken the picture yet!
But when you tell her to smile for the camera… CUTENESS ALERT! I love this picture!
Need I say more?
She found this random green ribbon… and she loved it!
Selfie of me! Probably not the best part of my fave to take a picture of… hello acne + freckles π¦Β
I have no idea what he was doing…
They have ganged up against me! I took both these pictures within 10 seconds of each other…
MIRROR SELFIES
These were so fun to take! I might make one my profile picture!
Sorry for the long post… I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what picture was your favorite!
Now that it’s finally 70 degrees in Florida (yes, that is cool for us Floridians, but I can’t wait for cooler weather!) I’m proclaiming it fall. lol When fall officially started, it was still 90 degrees, so that doesn’t count, right? Today I wanted to share some cute, modest fall outfits. I credited all my pictures with links to where I found them!
I love this look! It’s so fun and cute, I would totally wear this. Plus it’s very easy to recreate. I probably wouldn’t go with the ripped jeans, though.
This works for the fall that Florida gets, haha, but you could add a cardigan (turquoise would be fun, it would match that adorable statement necklace!) if you get a cooler fall.
So cute! I am not really a fan of ripped jeans, but the purse is #goals and I love how the Starbucks drink is an accessory (plus it’s an excuse to get #Starbucks so that you can have the perfect outfit picture… who can pass that up?).
I love this outfit! The sweater covers the back of the jeans, which is adorable and modest.
Soo… you guys know my idea of fall style now, lol. I love riding boots and little ankle boots, jeans are awesome with long cardigans, and I love blanket scarves. Such a pity that I never get to wear them π¦
Now, I’m going to share some of my favorite fall asthetics from Unsplash. Yay!
Pretty sure some of these are from the same photoshoot… #whatcanisay
Anyway, thanks for reading! This was so much fun to do π
As is my custom at the beginning of each new month (that sounds so weird), I’m going to do a review of how September went and go over my goals for October!
Ooh, this one is lots of fun! I have quite a few photos that I took in September, so buckle down and enjoy the ride π
Post 4 times on C & C β- I did this one! Check the “Posts this Month” section in this post to see what they were!
Post 4 times on QTE βΒ Nope! I’m actually taking a (hopefully temporary) break from QTE because I’ve been majorly busy. Hopefully next month I’ll have news along these lines to share with y’all- I have something really exciting coming up!
Send out a Monday email on the C & C mailing list twiceβΒ Nope! However, if you’re on the mailing list, you did get an email explaining some of the new changes π
Participate in a challenge/giveaway on another blog βΒ No… If you’re hosting a giveaway or challenge on your blog, please let me know. I love participating in things like that !
Start using my school schedule βΒ Yup!! I did this one, but I changed up my school schedule just a bit.
Next week’s post is all about the Planner- YAY, but for now, I’m going to give y’all a little peek into my planner for October!
^ My adorable reading log. I’m writing this on the 3rd, so I’ve already added some fun books!
I know this is blurry and oh so behind-the-scenes, but this is reality when I was setting up my planner. Plus, if you read myΒ How I write my blog postsΒ post, you’ll recognize what’s up on my computer screen!! I really like this photo, which is weird because it’s really bad! But I love the reality of it π
Start using the mailing list again- send out emails on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th (Mondays)
Use Habit tracker in planner
Use reading log in planner
Participate in a challenge/giveaway on another blog
Thanks for reading! What are your goals for October? Did you finish everything you planned to do in September?
As promised, here are a couple of mini-photo shoots of the Calico Critters. They’re so cute. Sadly our dog has chewed up many of the critters and items so they’re a little banged up. Also, my sister has sat on the chair and stood on the tables a few too many times (don’t ask) so we’re just going with the fact that our critters are Japanese and therefore sit on the floor (I know, lol).
Nighttime for the Critters
‘Twas night for the critters, when all thro’ the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The baby was tucked in her bed with care,
In hopes that sleep would find her there.
The critters were nestled all snug in their beds,
And on their pillows rested their little heads.
My parody of “Twas a Night before Christmas” for Critters. I’m not great with poems, but I think it turned out pretty cute. I took some photos to go along with it. It was hard to get clear pictures, in the dark, without using flash (it would brighten it up too much) so these pictures are, needless to say, pretty icky. Bear with me!
Critters have a photo session
Let me tell you, it is hard to mimic a real-life lifestyle session with Calico Critters, lol. My attempt mostly failed but I think I got some cute pictures. Let me know if you think so!
Tour the Critter’s home
So this isn’t actually touring their home, it’s 2 pictures but I though they were cute so I decided to share them!
Soo… what do you think? I tried to mimic a real family’s life and it was a lot of fun. It wasn’t very consistent though because I added and took away the little girl with the purple hair bow (did anyone else notice that) and she only appeared in 2 pictures. Can you guess which ones? Let me know in the comments π
Hi guys! I know that I have been posting quite a bit of photography lately, I hope that you don’t mind! Today, I have some gorgeous garden pictures and such that look really pretty (I think!) you’ll have to let me know if you think so too.
HiΒ guys! I have been wanting to share some photography, and I recently took some Calico Critter photo shoots, so I thought you might like them.
My younger brothers C and J (first initials) love playing with Calico Critters with me, and they always are begging me to let them take pictures, so we did this on Saturday. There are quite a few behind the scenes pictures as well, so I hope you enjoy!
SCENE 1:
This Scene was apparently ‘busy mama’. I can see why. Mama critter is cooking up a storm and taking care of her littles! The pictures are so cute. I do have a couple that aren’t great, but they kinda show that process, so I included them too.
I ended up doing these in the ‘super vivid’ function. They turned out really bright and colorful, which kind of fit the theme. So sorry if your eyes hurt though, haha. I’m not really sure if I like it, but the inside pictures turned out pretty good.
Setting up!
Honestly though, if this is what they would have looked like, I like the super vivid look.
For these photos, I grabbed a calico critter crib, turned it upside down, and set the camera on top of it. I love how it makes the photos come out on the babies’ level. Do you guys like it that way?
SCENE 2:
These were taken the next day (Saturday) with J. They’re so cute. I took one house and he took the other, and we both set them up and then took pictures. This one is my house, and the other house is his. I took all the pictures, though.
This picture is so cute!
My brothers thought these were so funny!
What a mess! I wasn’t hoping for this, but when you have a 7 year old brother helping you,Β these things happen, amiright? A lot of times peaceful Calico Critter playing turns into “Hurricane/Tornado/Tsunami/unheard of disaster attacks Calico Critters and results in them all getting killed.” Haha, but all joking aside, my brothers are actually super sweet.
SCENE 3:
J made this scene, and it’s super cute!
BEHIND THE SCENES:
These are super awesome! C joined us for some of these, haha.
So sorry for the amount of pictures, haha. According to wordpress, I uploaded more than 150… wow!!
