Reviewing July

reviewing july.png

I know I say this every time but HOW IS JULY OVER?? I can’t believe that August starts in just a couple days (also I know this post is a little early but I didn’t want to post twice on Wednesday and that’s when my camp nano post goes up. Confused yet? Me too 😂

Anyway, today I’m going to be recapping my month and sharing some of my favorite moments + my goal recap.

March Review | April Goals 🌼

post featured image (1)

March was a great month for me! I officially launched Christina’s Convos (my podcast about blogging and completed most of my goals! Let’s get started 🙂

r e v i e w i n g     m a r c h

Overall, March was a good month.  My goals were:

p e r s o n a l

  1. Make $90- I didn’t have any way to track this… but I’m also pretty sure that this didn’t happen. I was confident about this because of my success in February, but this month didn’t so well in this respect. That’s okay, though 🙂
  2. Read through 1st Samuel- Yes! I did this and finished on the first of the month. 😂
  3. Make/Keep a prayer journal– Kinda? I did this for about four days… 😂 I would say that this is a failure!
  4. Journal daily- Agh I was so close! I didn’t do it for a week near the end of the month (aka now) but I did it for 21 consecutive days! Pretty annoyed about this one, but I knew I wouldn’t be able to do it 😂 (also sorry for using this emoji WAY too much)

a c a d e m i c

  1. Finish Omnibus Secondary Selfpaced– yes! I finished on the 8th! I was so excited… but also really disappointed  because it was the only class I 100% loved 😦
  2. Keep a practice log for Piano- Yay! I did this too 🙂 Although I pretty much just did it 3 days at a time… (the logging, not the practicing)
  3. Practice Spanish every day- no 😦 I was going strong for a while but weekends were harder. Honestly, I practiced Spanish daily but I was counting only Duolingo. The only days I missed were Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and towards the end of the month I just… quit. Whoops.

b l o g g i n g

  1. Blog every Monday and Friday (9 times)– Yes! I did this 🙂 Of course, all with the help of my trusty WordPress scheduler. What would I do without you?
  2. Send out emails on Thursdays 4 times- Yay! I did this too. Probably the first time in the history of C & C that I actually did soo yay 😂🎉

a p r i l   g o a l s

p e r s o n a l

  1. Make $50- Significantly lower than last month. But I still kinda doubt I can do it… I’ll probably earn around $30 which is low but that’s okay!
  2. Read through 2nd Chronicles– To keep track with my “read the bible in 2019 plan”, I need to this. Again, pretty confident! Especially since I’m in 1st Chronicles right now 🙂
  3. Workout/Run/Yoga daily– I really need to do some sort of exercise daily so I’m putting this down. I doubt I will do it (guys I’m such a desk potato- like I don’t sit on the couch I just sit at my desk 😂)
  4. Drink more water– I feel like every time I drink water, I feel sick. xD I know it’s not true though… but I really do not drink enough water. I probably only drink 16 ounces a day on a good day and I’m supposed to drink 64. So this is really important!
  5. Do Camp NaNo- I signed up for Camp NaNo like last week but I’m really excited 🙂 I’m also starting a whole new story (like I have not developed ONE character and I have no idea what’s going to happen) soo pray for me guys. (I mean, jk, but please actually do 😂)

a c a d e m i c

  1. Keep a Practice Log for piano– This month, that’s my habit tracker 🙂 But still, it’s important, so I’m putting it down.
  2. Practice Spanish every day– Honestly I doubt I will do this. But since I need to try, I’m going to *attempt* to do Duolingo every day! Of course, I have Spanish class also, but I want to do this 🙂

b l o g g i n g

  1. Blog every Monday and Friday (nine times)- I pretty much have to do this soo
  2. Send out emails on Thursday four times– I’m confident about this, but I need to do it so it’s a goal 😂
  3. Post four episodes (at least) on Christina’s Convos- This is going to be hard because I need to schedule them ahead, but I’m hoping that I can do this!
  4. Get ahead with blogging– I feel like I’m running in a hamster wheel thingy- I get ahead and then I’m behind again. This month, I really want to actually get REALLY ahead and stay ahead 😉
  5. Do (some of) Maggie’s April Blogging Challenge Maggie is hosting an April blogging challenge, and I’m super excited about it! I know I’m not going to be able to do all of the challenges, but I will try to do some of them 🙂 I may end up doing all the challenges for each week in one post, but that’s okay.

Thank you guys for reading! What are your goals for April?

February Goals

post featured image goals for febuary.jpg

post featured image (1)

February is going to be a huge month for C & C (beware I’ll pretty much say this every single month in 2019… #sorrynotsorry ) and I’m super excited for it. Next week (on Monday, actually), I’ll be posting more about the fun new changes I have in store, but for now, I’ll be sharing my goals for February.

p e r s o n a l

01) Walk every day I’m probably (aka definitely) going to fail this one… but I want to try to take a walk every day.

02)  Read through Numbers I decided to read the entire bible in 2019 (halfway through January) and I actually JUST finished Genesis. If I want to stay on track, though, I need to read Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers this month. Ahhhh! I really really need to do this but it’s going to be hard. .

03)  Journal every day I’m going to fail this. lol. I really want to do this, but I’m awful at journaling//keeping up with it. I honestly don’t love writing about my day , but I’ll probably make it a mix of gratitude, prayer, and, of course, writing about my day.

null

b l o g g i n g

1)   Post every Monday and Friday You’ll learn more about this in Monday’s post, but I’m trying to post every week this month (and year)- twice!

2)  Send out emails every week I really need to use my email list… and figure out a way to integrate it with C & C.

Sorry that this post was so short.  I’m trying to post more often with less meaty posts (but not super short like this one )

Plus, if you read my How I write my blog posts post, you’ll recognize what’s up on my computer screen!! I really like this photo, which is weird because it’s really bad! But I love the reality of it 🙂

August Review + September Goals

letter-h-hello-animation

I feel like I’ve been doing this monthly review + goals thing for FOREVER! I’m pretty sure that this is my 6th month doing it, which is pretty awesome. I’ve come to enjoy doing it.

What I read in August

(again, mostly my library books)

Rilla of Ingleside by L. M. Montgomery: I’ve read this before but it’s one of my favorites. It’s so sweet. I LOVE Jims, he’s so cute. (For those who don’t know, this is the ending book of the Anne of Green Gables series. The main character is Rilla, Anne’s youngest child, who is 14 at the start of the book. The time period covered in Rilla of Ingleside is during WW1. I definitely recommend this book to really anyone. Anne of Green Gables is for ages 8 to 88 as they say! 🙂

Spy Camp by Stuart Gibbs: This was my “silly book” or “fun book” for the month. It was humerus and silly, very fun, but certainly not educational. There are some bits of humor that were amusing but hinting at crudeness. I don’t think this book was awful, but it’s not my favorite. I didn’t mean it to be, though!

The Hobbit by J. R. Tolkien: I’m actually currently reading this one for school, but I thought I’d include it in there. I read it in the first couple weeks of July, so I’m now rereading. I don’t have very much to say, but I would recommend it, it’s pretty awesome. I think the whole poem part with Gollum is quite boring though. It’s probably just me, lol!

Dear America: My Secret War I’ve always enjoyed the Dear America series (since I was 8) since it’s light, easy reads but so educational and teaching. Same with the Royal Diaries. This one, My Secret War, was very intriguing. Set in 1941-42 in Long Island, the WW2 Diary of Madeline Beck is quite interesting. My favorite part is how it’s so REAL! That’s what I love about DA. I recommend this book to anyone (the more advanced you are, the lighter the read is, but It’s also more fun because you can Google the person and research about them. I don’t think you’d do that at age 8, lol.

Dear America: Look to the Hills This book was not at all like My Secret War. Set in 1763, this is in the New York Colonies. Very different! It’s a diary of Lozette Moreau and very enlightening. I recommend it to the same people as above ^^.

Royal Diaries: Anastasia This is by the same authors as DA, but Royal Diaries are different in the fact that it’s royalty from all around. This one is Anastasia in Russia in 1914. It’s very fun and sad and lovely! I do think that the end is SO rushed and there’s not any buildup at all. It’s just- we leave, we’re gone, the end. XD

Royal Diaries: Isabel I had never ever heard this story before. Very interesting! I recommend it to everyone.

Photoshoot of my sister

On my younger sister E’s birthday, I took a photoshoot of her. Some of the photos turned out so cute! Since y’all have commented saying you want more pictures of her I decided to share a couple of them.

Goals for September:

  • Post 5 times on C & C
  • Post 4 times on QTE
  • Send out a Monday email on the C & C mailing list twice
  • Participate in a challenge/giveaway on another blog
  • Start using my school schedule

That’s all for today! I’ll see y’all next week for a fun photoshoot of _____ (you guess)!

July Review + August goals

letter-h-hello-animation

Just warning you, this is not going to be your typical monthly review + goals post. I’m taking another quick break so I’m writing this post a couple weeks ahead. Here are the changes (only for this month):

  • No goals review
  • No stats/blog posts

What IS going to be in this post:

  • Monthly reading list
  • Photos from this month

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get started!

July review graphic #1.jpg

Obviously, this isn’t everything I read this month, but here are some of the things I read.

All Four Stars- Tara Dairman

The Stars of Summer- Tara Dairman

Stars So Sweet- Tara Dairman

The Photograph- Beverly Lewis

The Covenant- Beverly Lewis

The Betrayal- Beverly Lewis

The Sacrifice- Beverly Lewis

The Prodigal- Beverly Lewis

The Revelation- Beverly Lewis

Okay, I admit it. These were only the 2 series I read. I read a lot more books in this, but I wanted to keep it simple.

I reread the “Four Stars” Series by Tara Dairman and realized that I didn’t love it as much as I though. I honestly would recommend the first one but not the others. Wait… there’s a BIG cliffhanger, maybe don’t read them at all?

I read a new single novel by Beverly Lewis- The Photograph. It was so intriguing, I would recommend.

I also read all of the ‘Abram’s Daughters” books and loved them. Get them all at once, you will be reading only them for 2-3 days straight. I’m pretty sure I’ve read all of Beverly Lewis’ books’s and reread them very often. She’s a favorite author of mine.

July review graphic #2.jpg

The header may be a little misleading and confusing. I’ve seen blog posts where you “vlog”, as in you can’t backspace and you have to include every work you type without editing. So, I decided to do that with my camera roll. I’m going to include every picture EXCEPT the ones that show my/a family member’s whole face. And to make it easier for you, I made a slideshow showcasing the photos!

divider2

Not very much, but hopefully you enjoyed! I hope to add these categories to my monthly posts now!
