There are only 4 days until christmas which is absolutely crazy! I sound like a broken record, but this year/month has gone by so quickly. I know I’ve shared a lot of christmas content already but today’s post is going to be some christmasy quotes and inspo as we count down the days until the holiday. have a wonderful day <33

CHRISTMAS BUCKET LIST (COVID SAFE!)

As I’m sure we all know, this year has been different than anything we’ve ever experienced before. Since a lot of things have changed because of covid, we can’t do all our traditions or fun christmas activities that we normally do. Because of that, I decided to make today’s post a fun christmas bucket list, but everything is covid safe and things you can do at home 🙂 love you all and I hope you have a wonderful christmas! stay safe ❤

decorate your room

I decorated my room for christmas and it makes me feel so festive! You don’t even have to have a tree (mine was $20 at walmart and I love it), just add a fun christmas pillow or throw blanket, light a christmasy candle, and voila!!

make a christmas playlist and turn up the volume

This is literally so easy to do but it’s so fun! Add all your christmas songs to a playlist and turn the volume all the way up. It gets you in a festive mood for sure.

make christmas cookies

I think most people did this every year even before covid, so it’s nice to have that sense of normalcy in an otherwise abnormal season. This is also a fun family activity and little kids love helping decorate the cookies :))

do a gingerbread house decorating contest with your family

This is also something fun you can do with your family! This year we bought a little gingerbread house village (five tiny houses) and I’m so excited to decorate them with my family. You can even do it over facetime with your friends if you want to!

read luke 2

Obviously this will not mean much to you if you are not religious but if you are a Christian this is definitely something you can do! Luke 2 is the story of Jesus’ birth, which is the real reason we celebrate Christmas. My family does this every year on christmas eve and it is a great way to remember the true reason for the season ❤

donate to people in need

This is something you can do every year, but especially this year, with so many people getting sick and losing their jobs, this is very important. We have so much to be grateful for in our lives and I’m sure you have something that you can share with others. While a lot of places where you can volunteer are temporarily closed, you can still help those in need from the comfort of your home. One option is toys for tots! You can do this right from your computer or phone and it only takes a few minutes but it will mean so much to a child this year.

Will you be doing any of these things? Have you done any already? I forgot to mention – something else you can do is make a yummy cup of hot cocoa :)) super easy and festive! let’s chat in the comments below ❤

Can you imagine?

Can you imagine what it would have been like for Mary?

Can you imagine what it would be like to be 14, maybe 15, having a son (normal at that age) in a stable?

Can you imagine what it would be like to go an 80-mile journey, pregnant, on a donkey?

Can you imagine what it would be like to have your baby be the son of God?

Why do we celebrate Christmas? Do you know?

You might say that we’re celebrating a baby’s birth. Why don’t we do it for the thousands of other babies?

We celebrate Christmas because that tiny baby was born to die. Those tiny hands were born to have nails piercing them.  Those tiny pink feet were born to walk, carrying a cross, up to a hill called Calvary. That tiny life was born to die on a cross on Calvary.

Now, you might wonder why we celebrate someone who’s dead, and why we would even care.

That baby died for our sins. He took them away. He died the death that we should have died. But he’s not dead anymore. He rose again! HE IS ALIVE!

We celebrate Christmas because that tiny baby was born to reign. My pastor put it this way: if there was one king who was perfect and just, wouldn’t you just long to be under the reign of that king? You would, wouldn’t you? You would know that he could make better decisions than anyone, including you. Well, we have that king. The baby was that king. He’s not an earthly king, though. He is a heavenly king.

Now, do you know why we celebrate Christmas? Do you want to be under the reign of the perfect king, the savior, to have your sins paid for? It’s free! Jesus wants you to have this. He loves you more than anyone can imagine. Here is an example prayer that you can pray. Say it out loud or silently. You don’t have to pray this one.

Lord Jesus, come into my heart. Wash me and cleanse me. You died the death I should have. Thank you. You rose again. I want you to reign in my heart. Fill me with the holy spirit. Because of Jesus, Amen.

That was short, wasn’t it? But it’s not the specific words you say. It’s your heart. If your heart really means it, if you really believe what you’re praying, then you will be saved.

I also have a song that I heard on the radio that I really liked.

How many Kings//downhere

Follow the star to a place unexpected
Would you believe, after all we’ve projected,
A child in a manger?
Lowly and small, the weakest of all
Unlikeliest hero, wrapped in his mother’s shawl
Just a child
Is this who we’ve waited for?
‘Cause how many kings step down from their thrones
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Bringing our gifts for the newborn Savior
All that we have, whether costly or meek
Because we believe
Gold for his honor, and frankincense for his pleasure
And myrrh for the cross he will suffer
Do you believe?
Is this who we’ve waited for?
How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least for me?
And how many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only wanted that for me
Oh, all for me, oh
All for me, all for you
All for me, all for you
All for me, all for you
All for me, all for you
How many kings step down from their thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least?
How many gods have poured out their hearts
To romance a world that is torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
Only wanted that for me, oh
All for me, all for you
The chorus keeps coming back to me.
How many kings step down from the thrones?
How many lords have abandoned their homes?
How many greats have become the least?
How many gods have poured out their hearts
T0o romance a world that is torn all apart?
How many fathers gave up their sons for me?
So true!
