sorry I accidently scheduled this for monday instead of last friday! this friday we’ll have the aesthetics for october post 🙂
If you’re keeping up with the checklist freebie I gave you in the introduction post, you may have noticed that I skipped “drink more water”! That’s because I already wrote a post on tips to drink more water and I didn’t want to write the same post twice since that post already has allll the tips. Go check that out if you haven’t already!
Today we’re going to be talking about keeping your room clean. I’ll share some tips and hacks for keeping your room clean 24/7 and some simple changes you can make in your routines that will make your room so much neater. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or future post ideas, let me know in the comments below!

(realistic) tips for keeping your room clean all the time
01. Make your bed first thing in the morning, every morning
This is hard to remember but once you get in the habit your room will be so much cleaner! If you time yourself making your bed you’ll find out that it takes less than 5 minutes to do but it has an immense effect on the neatness of your room. Do it right away as soon as you wake up for a week or two, and you’ll find that it becomes a habit quickly!

02. Put away your clothes as soon as you take them off
I’m notorious for changing my outfit several times, usually because I don’t like how it looks. This can make my room really messy really quickly, however, so developing the habit of folding, hanging up, or putting your clothes in a the laundry as soon as you take them off.

03. Keep a basket for all the random junk that you will undoubtably accumulate
We all acccumulate those random things. Yup, everyone. The thing is, you don’t have to have them out or on the floor at all times – they clutter up your room quickly and make it look messy even if they’re supposed to be there. Keep a basket in your closet or on a bookshelf for the random bracelets, notebooks, markers, essential oils, perfumes, and everything else that we all seem to accumulate.

04. Set a timer every day to clean up your room for 10 minutes
Yep, only 10 minutes. It’ll probably feel longer because that’s how cleaning your room goes. But here’s the secret – spending 10 minutes each day cleaning your room instead of 2 hours on the weekend will make your room much neater day to day and ends up taking less time. Set a timer on your phone for 10 minutes and see how much you can get done!
On a scale of 1-10, how messy is your room right now? Do you use any of these tips? How’s your glow up coming along? Let’s chat in the comments below!

These are all awesome tips! I like things clean, but I really dislike the actual cleaning part of it, so often things will slip. 🙄 I’m going to start the 10 minutes of cleaning a day, though; I think that will be really helpful!

Great post! I’d say mine on the scale would be 8/10. I’ve been really conscious to always make my bed first thing, it’s my first ‘productive’ thing to start my day off. Thanks for sharing 😌

I’m that weird teen who is obsessed with a clean room. I don’t mess anything up really and never have to tidy up for this reason, but I do of course dust and wipe down surfaces. That’s something nobody has any control over after all! I just enjoy always being in a clean space. It’s so satisfying!
