MAKING TIME FOR GOD WHEN YOU’RE BUSY | PRACTICAL TIPS AND TRICKS

We all have days (or weeks, or months) where it feels like our days are crammed full top to bottom. With sports practice, math tests, homework, spending time with family and friends, exercise, and trying to keep our rooms clean (the list goes on and on), our schedules are usually full top to bottom.

During these seasons, God often gets pushed to the bottom of our priorities. I can’t count the number of times I’ve collapsed into bed at a late hour because of homework and studying and realized I didn’t spend any time with God during the day. Since we all struggle with this, I’ve written this post with practical ways to fit God into your everyday and make time for Him even on your busiest day. My hope for this post is that you leave feeling encouraged, refreshed, and eager to make time for Him. I’m praying that you’ll be able to use some of these tips in your life!

Listen to worship music in the car or workout

After listening to Christian or worship music I always feel so close to God. This one is easy because most (if not all) of us listen to music during the day, whether it’s while you’re in the car on the way to school, work, or sports practice or while you get your workout in. This is a simple switch that will definitely help you fit in more time with God during busy days!

Listen to sermons/Christian podcasts while you shower or get ready

I’ve been loving sermons and podcasts while I get ready in the mornings and they’ll definitely help you grow in your faith.

Podcast reccomendations:

Whoa that’s Good with Sadie Robertson

For the Girl (one of my favorites!!)

As for me and my house (Milena Ciciotti and her husband’s podcast!)

Girls Night with Stephanie Mae Wilson

Daily Grace by the Daily Grace Co.

As He Promised the Podcast by Ariel Alena

these are just some of my favorites but there are many more amazing ones! If you have a favorite I didn’t share please comment it below and I’d love to check it out!

Write bible verses on notecards and put them on your mirror or inside your locker

This is great especially if you’re looking to memorize scripture or keep it in your heart all day long but be sure to keep it somewhere where you can see it (:

Make your phone background a bible verse

This way whenever you turn on your phone you get a little reminder of a verse! There are so many cute options on Pinterest so find one you love and make it your lock screen.

Wake up 5 minutes early so you have time to pray

I knowww all of us LOVE to press the snooze button in the mornings but waking up just a couple minutes early in the morning so you have a few moments with just you and God before the business of your day starts. It’ll make your day so much better, I promise! It’s totally worth waking up a little bit earlier.

Listen to your bible reading

Instead of reading the bible, you can always play the audio version! This is great if you have a commute to work or school (most of us do) this is a great option for you. This is also perfect if you’re not a huge fan of reading or you struggle with staying focused.

Download the Bible app (short devos)

The Bible app is one of the best (if not the best) you can download on your phone! I love all the devotionals that it has on it – they’re all free and they have tons of different topics. I may do a group study on it soon, and if I do, I’ll invite all of you on my instagram. If you only do one thing from this list, download the bible app and start a plan! It’s one of the best things you can do and literally anyone can do it (you can also access it from a computer!)

Set a time limit on your social media usage so you have a little extra time to spend with God

Most of us (ESPECIALLY me haha) spend a LOT of time on social media apps like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and even YouTube and Pinterest. If you limit your social media usage you’ll realize you can fit a lot more into your day! A lot of the time we complain that we don’t have any time to spend with God because we’re “too busy” but you might actually have more time than you think. Log out of all of your social media apps for a week and see how much more time you have!

I’m praying for all of you that you’re able to apply these practical tips to your life! As always if you have any comments or questions please leave them below. (:
