ways to make your room cozy for spring

hey guys! since spring is here I thought it would be fun to share some ideas to make your room cozy for spring. also I thought it might take our minds off quarantine (I’ve been sharing lots of posts about that lately so I thought something new would be fun!) 💛

note: all pics are from pictures and aren’t mine but I think a fair number of them are from urban outfitters so if you want one of the items shown I would check there!

white fluffy blanket/spring bedding

this is a great way to refresh your room for spring! I got a white fluffy blanket (for lack of a better word) for christmas and I love it! It’s so comfy and it looks super cute. you can find those really anywhere and another fun bedding is this floral one from urban outfitters. I love the flowers but it’s not super bright and it’s pretty simple which is great.

fairy lights

these are one of the easiest ways to update your room for spring and they’re also super inexpensive! you could even use white christmas lights if you wanted and it would look pretty similar. fairy lights are a great way to make your room cozy and aesthetic.

flowers

flowers are another thing that screams spring to me, and they look amazing wherever you put them in your space! I currently have some dried flowers on my wall which actually look really good, and I’d like to do an assortment of fake flowers on my wall like the picture above. you don’t have to put them on your wall to be cute though! you can put them in vases, dry and press them and put them in picture frames, print out pretty pictures of flowers… this is one of the easiest ways to brighten up your space!

spring photo wall

photo walls transform your space and they’re a great way to make an easy accent wall! if you have a Polaroid camera you could print out those pictures and put them on your wall. If you don’t (like me!!) you can print out pictures from pinterest which is super easy! I would recommend trying to find a central color scheme like the one shown  above for a more cohesive look. find pictures that inspire or mean something significant to you and ta-da! an easy spring update for your room.

plants

spring is a season of new life and growth, and plants symbolize that, so what better reason to fill your room with them! start with succulents and fake plants if you’re not good at keeping track of when to water them, but you could add real ones later if you’d like! vines are also a cute way to bring plants (but obviously not real ones!) into your space (the ones in the picture are from urban outfitters!) and they look great hanging on the wall! if you’re not much of a plant person, I’d recommend getting vines so it’s not too much.

soft colors 

bright colors are great and fun, but spring is a great time to bring in more muted tones and shades. go with light, pastel colors (but don’t feel limited by this at all! if you love a certain color than go for it girlfriend. if you really want that light spring look, take your favorite color and bring it down a notch to the more pastel version of it. play around with different colors and shades until you find one you l o v e!!)

new curtains 

curtains are simple, but they can change the look of your space immensely. these (again from urban outfitters… I promise I’m not affiliated or sponsored I’ve just pinned a ton of their stuff on pinterest lol) are such a pretty color for spring and they’re thin and see through which helps bring in the light to create a light filled, airy space.
