Abortion: My Viewpoint

This post may make you uncomfortable. It might make you squirm. Abortion’s not THAT bad. What are you talking about? But it needs to be said. So I’m going to say it.

Melanie from Reflections of The Heart (amazing, check it out) has plenty of amazing posts about this topic. She’s an amazing pro-life teen, and her blog is very inspirational and amazing. I’ve been following her for a while, and she’s great! Her posts range from modesty to lifestyle, from decor to relationships.

I’m sure you all heard about the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida. 17 innocent people were shot in a location that is meant to be a safe haven for them. I hurt for the families who lost a piece in their lives- may it be a spouse or child. Their lives will be forever different.  I hurt for these families, but I have a greater hurt than that. My heart aches because of the response this has caused. Almost everyone shows sympathy- and that’s not bad. It’s good that many people are against such a thing. The sad thing is that people are totally against this- but over 125, 000 abortions occur each day. Over 125, 000 innocent babies are murdered each day; what’s more, in a location that should be the safest place possible. How can shooting be wrong and hated, but ripping apart unborn babies be admired? How can everyone hate the fact that 17 humans were robbed of life, but not care about the billions of unborn humans who never even had a chance to live outside of the womb? The question is: How can we be so enraged at the shooter when we have taught him that life is disposable?

Don’t get me wrong, I am most certainly against shootings- especially this one! What happened was horrible and should NOT have happened. But everyone who is also hurting for the children, adults, and their families and not hurting for the billions of unborn children should reconsider.

This was just as hard to write as it will be to read.

  1. Excellent expression of a godly response to a horrific current event & exposing one that’s been happening with alarming increase for the past 45 years! I liked the way you ended with a call to “consider your ways” & the result we see. Well spoken, Christina. (Blessed to be your Nana:) FYI See Amos 1:13

  2. Christina, wow, that almost made me cry, you are so strong, I don’t know you well, but I am so proud of you. *hugs* I totally agree. We have become desensiytized as a country to violence/murder. (Abortion, killers on the street, and even violent video games that some 8 years old play). Amazing job. 😀

  3. That was amazing! I totally agree, I mean who can agree with killing unborn babies while they are mourning the lose of 17 others. It’s truly horrible. The mother always should put her child first!

    1. Aw thanks so much Hannah! Right! If everyone mourned the millions of abortions that happen every day, then we would be morning all. the. time.!!!

  4. Dear Christina, We have only met a few times when you have visited your grandparents’ church in Jacksonville, but they shared this blog post with me, and I wanted to thank you for writing it. This is such a powerful line: “The question is: How can we be so enraged at the shooter when we have taught him that life is disposable?” It is so hard to live in a world where, like you said, the idea that “life is disposable” is seen in so many ways. I pray that you and I and all those who are called by Jesus’ name will not grow weary of fighting against that and showing that human life is precious because it is the image of God–through actions if possible, through prayers always, and through words like yours here. Thank you for obeying the Lord’s command to stand for Him and speak truth! Love, Lindsey

    1. Yes, I do remember meeting you! Thanks for commenting.
Thank you. It is very hard to live in a world where life is considered disposable. Some people may not realize what they are supporting when they support abortion. Human life is certainly very precious because it is made in the image of God.

      1. Thanks, Christina! I also wanted to say how excited I was to read that you are doing Omnibus . . . I am an Omnibus graduate too, and though it’s hard work, it’s some of the best work I know! Keep it up! 🙂

  5. as one of my classmates said in omnibus, how can people be so concerned about animals and killing them when they support killing babies?
